HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
It’s not new at all, but the current rage in fitness is HIIT because of the simple fact that it sets up the body to burn calories during and after each exercise session. HIIT simple put is done over the period of a 30 minute exercise session. During the session participants complete short 30 second to 60 second routines done very intensely and rapidly alternating different exercise routines with little or no rest between each exercise. During the 30 minute HIIT session most participants can expect to burn from 300 to 400 calories, which is significant. During an HIIT 30 minute class a person might do 30 pilates type core reps then move to doing jumping jacks to 10 pushups to 15 burpees.
