Exercise is done for two reasons, weight loss and cardiovascular healthy. People do not want to lower muscle mass, they normally want to build it. If all a person does is diet then weight loss will occur, but muscle loss will also be part of the picture. Regular cardio exercise helps the body to grow muscle. A person on a diet can ensure they maintain body muscle by including HIIT exercising into their daily routine.
