Aerobic means with oxygen or with air. Anaerobic means the exact opposite–without oxygen or air. When you think of aerobic exercise, activities such as walking briskly, jogging and aerobic dancing come to mind. When one engages in these exercises, the body requires oxygen or air to sustain the activity. Aerobic exercise is performed longer, but the pace is lower in intensity. It benefits the heart, burns calories and helps with overall body toning.
